6. Judging:

Judging will be done on an anonymous basis. All received entries will have the author's name removed and be assigned an anonymous number before being assigned to the judges for scoring. Judging will be conducted in two separate elimination rounds, plus a Quarter Final, a Semi Final and a Final round. In the first elimination round the initial 30 pages of the script will be read and judged. The submissions receiving the top two hundred (200) scores will proceed to the second elimination round where the entire submission will be read in total and scored based upon the same judging criteria as round one.

Thirty two (32) Quarter Finalists will be chosen from the second elimination round.
Sixteen (16) Semi Finalists will be chosen from the Quarter Finalists.
Eight (8) Finalists will be chosen from the Semi Finalists.
Three (3) Winners will be chosen from the Finalists.

Judging in all the rounds will be based upon the following standard screenplay criteria:

Format and Style
Story and Structure
Originality and Appeal
Characterization and Dialogue

In the case of a tie, the submission with the highest combined score in all the rounds of judging, to that point, will win. If the combined scores are equal, the submission with the highest score in any single category shall be the winner. If the highest scores in any single category are the same in both submissions then the Judges shall compare the tied submissions solely against each other to determine a winner.

7. Prizes:

The All Access Screenwriting Competition winners shall consist of one (1) First Place Winner, one (1) Second Place Winner and one (1) Third Place Winner and five (5) Finalists. The three Winners shall receive the following prizes:

Industry Exposure

Each of the three Winners will also receive the following four levels of industry exposure:

  • Hollywood Submission - your screenplay synopsis is submitted to 0 participating companies that have already requested our top three Winners. See a full list of companies here. Aspiring screenwriters can often only dream about getting their work into these hands. Here's your opportunity to be considered for option and/or representation. Why do we send a synopsis out and not the full screenplay? It's much easier for an executive to read 2-3 pages of a synopsis and you get a chance to get your whole story across without worrying that they will put it to one side after page 30 without finishing it! We will work with you to provide an industry ready synopsis so that your work will look exciting and professional. If your synopsis is received well, then we will also take care of getting your screenplay out once it is requested, including all professional copying and mailing fees.

  • The Hollywood Bugle - a special edition of our Hollywood newsletter, which is received by 1,967 studios, production companies, execs & managers will be dedicated to our top three winners and five finalists.

  • Writer's Rolodex - You'll receive a free six month subscription to our Writer's Rolodex, which contains contact information for 5,467 industry companies. Additionally, the Rolodex contains a 'my contacts' section allowing you to save your favorite companies and track submissions you've made.

  • The Script Marketplace - a free twelve- month listing for your screenplay. Interested industry parties can access our password protected Marketplace where they are able to view details of your screenplay, read your logline and synopsis and contact you. Your listing will have its winning status promoted with a special highlighted banner in order to help it stand out from the crowd.
